Soft Tissue Rehabilitation is one of the more common tasks taken on by Physical Therapists.  People who are engaged in physical activity at work or play most commonly are seen for soft tissue rehabilitation.  However, it is not uncommon for the average person to sprain an ankle while walking from one room to another.

What is a Soft Tissue Injury?

When you participate in physical fitness activities, sports, or have a strenuous job, you can injure the soft tissues of your body. Even simple everyday activities can damage these ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

The most common soft-tissue injuries experienced include:

All it takes is a single episode, such as a fall, a sudden twist of the ankle, or a hit to the body to develop soft tissue pain. However it is also likely repeated overuse, such as repetitive motion at work, poor ergonomics or ongoing athletic activities. This slowly developing pain adds small amounts of stress on the body at a steady pace.  Soft Tissue Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy may be needed to improve your lifestyle.
